Part Two
Pathways to Our Faith
For as in one body we have many members, and not all the members have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are members one of another. We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us.
—Romans 12:4-6a
The sermons in Part Two create opportunities for children to discover themselves and the congregation they are part of as children of God and the body of Christ. The sermons are pathways for helping children see themselves and others who are big, small, men, women, old, young, from different neighborhoods, and of different cultures, groups, and colors being led by Jesus, the Head of the church, and united together to carry out the work Jesus began. The sermons also present Holy Communion (the Lord’s Supper), baptism, and symbols of the Christian church as pathways for children’s seeing and experiencing God’s people in the presence of God and God’s presence with and in us.
